Performer: Dear Jane, Mike Tsang, Gareth. T, One Promise
Growth is about challenge, change, and experimentation.
A Walker can only make great strides if they dare to be different.
But if Black Label is the creative canvas for unique Highball recipes,
What sort of creative spark can we expect from our Music Walkers?
Johnnie Walker has gathered Music Walkers from all over:
featuring Dear Jane, One Promise, Mike Tsang and Gareth T for the exclusive Music Highball Live.
It’ll be a night of musical ingenuity you’ll never forget!
Nobody would question Dear Jane’s position as one of Hong Kong’s most iconic bands post-2010. With hits such as ‘You’re not destined to be alone and ‘Humans can’t fly, they are truly sensational. Despite being celebrated by adoring fans for over 10 years, these 4 Music Walkers are hungry for more. They work tirelessly to weave a multi-cultural essence within their work by bringing everyone closer through their music. Perhaps this explains why all their performances had been so captivating — it’s just one of the many attractive qualities of being a Walker.
Mike Tsang’s one of the top talents of Hong Kong’s new generation of male singers. Even though it has yet to be a year after his debut, his new songs, ‘If I’ and ‘I’m not a cupid’ have both been well received on music platforms all over Hong Kong. However, Mike’s musical path had not been a smooth one. His run was unfortunately cut short in season 2 of Good Night Show – Kingmaker, where his illness affected his pivotal performance. Thankfully, his musical talents were discovered by musician Eric Kwok. It’s all thanks to Mike’s determination to never give up. Two years later, he gradually found his place again on his musical journey. Let us appreciate Mike’s grit as a Musical Walker by listening to his music.
Gareth. T is both a young R&B artist and experienced in producing music for many renowned Hong Kong singers such as Keung To, and Alfred Hui. All eyes are on this new rising superstar of the Hong Kong music industry. Although Gareth. T is based in Hong Kong, his songs always managed to attract media all around the world. Through his music, this gifted Walker sent a powerful message worldwide: “Hong Kong music is ready to take its place on the world stage.”
They were formed in 2002 and renamed One Promise in 2009. Their debut song ‘One Step’ had made a considerable impact in the Hong Kong music industry. They've been on the road of music for a long time — nearly 20 years. Each of the 4 Walkers of One Promise not only wants to find new inspiration in their work, but they also hope to shatter language barriers by taking their music to newer places. One day, the world will get a chance to listen to all of One Promise's songs.
